Stop texting for a date!!!

So lately, as you know, I have been blogging and talking about my whole confusion on whether I think that this technology craze that we are going through is a good thing or a bad thing? Or just a thing? Dating is such a personal part of someones life and I see and hear so many stories about everyone texting instead of talking. I mean when you get a girls number. Text her to ask for a date. Text her to set up the date. Text her to let her know you a running a little late. Text her while on the date to let your friends know your digging her or not. Text her on the way home to thank her and the next morning to let her know that you had a nice time. Does that sound a little impersonal to you? Silly right!

Well, I hear versions of that all the time. Sort of a long those same lines. I have a 15 year old daughter who decided to have a sleep over with all of her friends the other night. I am a single Dad and had NO idea how I was going to entertain 10 teenage girls. My daughter doesn't want to be seen with me so I knew I wouldn't be in charge of the board games! So I heated the pool, ordered pizza, decorated the best I could with my daughter calling me old in the background! I ordered pizza, dragged the ping pong table out and went upstairs to get out of every ones way. After an hour, I thought, it is WAY to quiet down there. So I go downstairs and you guessed it. !0 girls ,all friends for life. Sitting in my living room, facebooking and texting each other. Seriously!! My parents would have been afraid to leave us alone. But, I guess you don't have to sneak out when all you have to do is text!

I am hardly old school when it comes to technology, I love all the toys and my I phone and all the fun stuff it can do. But, I do know that I have miss understood a text, that you can't hear tone, sometimes you don't catch the humor. It's nice to send a text and let someone know your thinking about them. Just don't get in the habit of making it 90% of the way you communicate. Of course
I still want you to join twitter and become one of my 15,000 followers! Told you I was confused! @TampaDating
