Valentines Day is Coming...Do you have a sweetheart?

So, How is Your Love Life?

“The beginning of love is at the end of resistance.” –Danielle Light

Happy Valentines Month! Cupid’s arrow is bowed and couples are falling in love all over town. So the spotlight is on LOVE in February. Everyone is talking about it...and if they are not....trust me....they are THINKING about it. You can run but you cannot hide from LOVE in February. So then, HOW IS YOUR LOVE LIFE? (please pause to think). Do you need a little help from the super sweet cupid this month? Have no fear (literally). Fear is out. Love is in.

This month we are attending another Precision Dating Wedding of a very special couple, Dick and Rosa. Dick and Rosa would have never met if they hadn't stepped up their odds and contacted their local cupid...yours truly. We should all seek to pursue our dreams just like we do a healthy body, mind, and career.

Countless studies have shown that we are happiest when we are in a healthy relationship with someone special. Contrary to popular belief, it is NOT money, fame, or beauty that truly brings happiness--it's togetherness. In my line of work, I've asked people of all ages, from 20's to 80's, what the happiest time in their life has been thus far, and everyone always answers the same way: their most enjoyable times were had when they were in a good relationship. It makes perfect sense. When you are coupled, you have somebody to enjoy your free time with in the present, but also someone with whom you can visualize the future. You have someone to share the good times with, and you also have someone you can lean on during the tough times. Two beats One any day of the week!

Deep down, no one wants to be single, just like no one would choose to be alone on Valentine's Day. Yet many will be alone this month and all year long, because they are not stepping up to "own" their love life. They are afraid to leave the box. Fear of losing freedom, money, fear of rejection, or fear of hurting/being hurt (all big ONLINE dating risks by the way) will squelch a dream in its tracks. There is someone out there for everyone, and if you look in the right places you WILL find your special someone! Realize if you are staying single for fear-based reasons then you are making a choice: succumbing to FEAR instead of embracing LOVE. Fear is crippling and weak. Think for a moment about what you are most afraid of? If low self-esteem is the culprit and you often find yourself thinking, "No one will ever love me." realize you are in fact wrong. We are all loveable. Start saying to yourself: "I am lovable, and I deserve the best partner in the world." The biggest inhibitor to change lies within yourself, and nothing gets better until YOU change. Be optimistic...will ya?

I am meeting more amazing single people than ever before in my 20 years of business. Times have changed! So many good candidates for men and women my age--as well as twice my age and half my age--walk through my office doors daily. I feel honored to know as many good looking, successful, and happy people as I know now. The clientele that we are seeing now are too smart and too busy for online dating, are all too aware of the riskiness of the bar scene, and are selectively seeking quality individuals...as they should!

In honor of the month of love, here are my words of advice: "Treat yourself the way you want to be treated by others. Love yourself and you will be loved." Love the world and it will love you back! It’s the LOVE MOVEMENT. Join in!!! Enrolling daily.

Happy Valentine’s Day Wishes!!! Love this year!!! So far so good! Let’s make it better!

XOXO,
Kelly
